Metadata, metacontent, data and content are really important factors which form the Internet’s language. As far as we are concerned, we take those items as if they were the background of the web pages. Here are some definitions:

• Metadata:”Data about data. Metadata describes how and when and by whom a particular set of data was collected, and how the data is formatted. Metadata is essential for understanding information stored in data warehouses and has become increasingly important in XML-based on the Web  aapplications.”
• Metacontent: Even if deffining this term it`s not easy, this could be some kind of definition written by Joaquín Bravo Montero in his XML course: “Un metacontenido no es más que la información relativa al contenido del documento, como su título, autor, amaño del archivo, fecha de creación, historial de cambios, palabras clave, y demás información asociada.”
• Content: As it is defined in W3C, a web content is “a text equivalent for every non-text element. This includes: images, graphical representations of text, image map regions (…)

  Markup languages: There are many markup languages, such as HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), XML (Extensible Markup Language) , SGML (Standard General Markup Language).
